A Symbol for Resistance

Wave of Resistance called for collective action against oil pipelines threatening water, land, wildlife, and Indigenous communities. I created a campaign identity built around the idea of a rising wave — a visual symbol of movement, solidarity, and growing resistance.

A Unified Campaign

The identity expanded into a flexible visual system of bold color, organic shapes, topographic textures, typography, and photography. Each element was designed to carry a sense of urgency while remaining adaptable across different messages, formats, and campaign touchpoints.

Driving the Message Forward

The final campaign pieces were designed to communicate with speed and impact. Bold headlines, protest imagery, and direct calls to action helped turn the visual identity into a tool for awareness, participation, and public pressure. Images of marine mammals expanded the message beyond human communities, reinforcing that other sentient beings share these ecosystems and are also threatened by the expansion of oil pipelines.
